Welcome to the Slap Shot Fantasy Hockey League!
There are tons of Fantasy Leagues to choose from....why choose us? We have expanded over the last two seasons and were up to 30 teams for the 2009-10 season. The expansion thinned the talent pool further than most GM's liked, so we are opening up a second and third league option with the same format for the 2010-11 season. All leagues are capped at 20 teams to have more of a free agent pool to draw from and to make the competition more balanced. Still with 20 teams, our size gives you much better odds of winning the prize money. 1 in 20 odds are certainly better than 1 in 7000, don't you think? More importantly than money is the elevated level of competition with our GM's. We have a great group of GM's an draft day is a lot of fun and offers a great chance to do some trash talking before the season gets underway.
We use NHL stats and a well balanced points system to keep the competition close. You can trade as many times as you want until the NHL trading deadline. We offer a combined package that includes both the regular season as well as the playoffs. We also utilize the an online drafting system for drafting only to make it a quick and efficient draft. After draft day all information and rosters are managed through our site. General Managers have a budget of $59,400,000 with which to draft their team.Live drafts are completed for each league and we enforce the NHL salary cap as per the cap numbers provided by CapGeek.com. Check our rules and information page for more details on joining the leagues.
League A is our original league and has the most veteran GM's in it. This league began limited keepers for the 2009-10 season and is currently full.
As of Tuesday August 17th, League B is now full at 20 teams. This is the first earliest that we have filled any of the leagues, so if you want in for the 2010-11 season, you should jump on the availability in League C as it won't be there for long.
League C is currently our only open league and those openings are filling up fast for the 2010-11 season. This league will also be limited keeper leagues and keepers will be selected at the 2011 trading deadline for the following season. Check the team pages on League C for availability and make put in your team request today by contacting the commissioner.
